The Emirates Palace Archway

 
The impressive Arc de Triomphe-style entrance built with Italian stone.

Kind of a waste, building an arch like that and then blocking it so nobody can drive through it! haha (unless those barriers retract, perhaps they do)

So, given the security, would this be the home of your country's leader? The UAE is a monarchy, yes?

The Palace is owned by the Abu Dhabi government but operated by the Kempinski group.

This entrance is for reserved for top sheikhs and presidents (both Bushes have visited in the past). Mere mortals go in via the side entrance.
