Sheikh Zayed Billboard

 
On the side of the highway, halfway between Abu Dhabi and Dubai is the unusual sight of a giant billboard displaying the late president's photo - Surreal!

How bizarre looking to my western eye! It appears as if the pillar has been photoshopped into a desert landscape (I know you didn't). Also, have never seen a billboard of such regal design and proportions.

Although it looks photoshopped, I took the picture soon after restoration, which is why the photo looks so clean and bright.

Apparently, there’s an identical one on the other side of the road.

I have a photo of the same billboard taken in March 2009- definitely not photoshopped!
