Rain, Rain, Go Away
Right now we’re experiencing some turbulent weather with both sandstorms and thunderstorms bashing the UAE. Over the weekend both Andrea Bocelli and Coldplay played Abu Dhabi (not together of course!) and had to contend with unseasonable downpours during their outdoor concerts to 25,000 adoring fans at the Emirates Palace.

Kids like to play in the rain. Grownups, not so much.

Is it cold, too? Are there ever sandstorms and thunderstorms together?
Greg - It only rains here about 3 times a year but sand storms a far more common with sand getting in every orifice imaginable!
San Diegi Farmgirl - No, the sandstorms and thunderstorms weren't together but pretty close. It's currently about 25oC/75F, which is down on normal temperatures. Do you ever get bad weather/snow in San Diego?
Here on the Pacific side of the U.S., the weather is pretty mild. We rarely get hurricanes or other violent storms like they have on the Atlantic side. We also have mild temperatures - I've never lived in a San Diego home that has A/C, and many have wood burning stoves for heat. We have probably had snow a few times in San Diego, but I've never seen it. However, we do have mountains to the north with snow. And, there are ski resorts north of LA (3 hr drive) that had snow as recently as 2 weeks ago.
You can surf in the morning and ski in the afternoon and rarely need artificial cooling or heat. We are sooooo spoiled!
