Feeling Hungry?

An Emirati woman preparing traditional legamat, a sweet made of flour, water and sugar. It is deep fried in oil and eaten with date syrup - Yum!

It doesn't make me feel particularly hungry, but the photo does make me feel sad.

A life curtailed. A women held back.

Eamon, you don't know her life, please don't judge it from her covered face. It's not my choice of dress either, but we shouldn't think that because she's dressed like that, her life is 'curtailed.' It's the quality of her life that matters most. Does she have a family that loves her? Is she precious to anyone?

Yesterday I saw something even sadder on tv. A 16 year old girl who thinks it's cool to strip dance. She said she would prostitute herself for money too, if it's right. And her father thinks is okay.

Actually, the 16 year old girl doesn't only think it's cool...she DOES strip dance. And her father thinks it's okay, he's taken money from her too.

Agreed with everything you said Guyana-Gyal. Well expressed.
