Buying a magic carpet

Buying a carpet in the UAE isn't easy. First you should know the difference between a hand-made Iranian/Persian and Chinese machine made look alike. Also, if it's single or double knotted, and the type of material - silk, cotton, wool or synthetic.... Next comes your bartering skills! There's a good article on the whole process in "Abu Dhabi Week".

I love this posting! I love Persian rugs! I bought a small silk rug in Agra, India a year ago and it's my favorite "souvenir" even if I overpaid for it!
