Shamal Winds

In contrast to the glorious weather at the triathlon last weekend we've had hot and dry, dusty winds from the north today. Typically known as 'Shamal' in Arabic (wind current) it meant the sunbeds on the Corniche were completely empty. Up the road in Dubai, a dozen swimmers had to be pulled from the sea by police rescue officers due to the strong wind and currents - Yikes! I'm off home.
