Land Rover Cafe

 

One the most unusual sites in the UAE is this oversized Land Rover café on stilts. It’s located 60km outside Abu Dhabi at the Emirates National Auto Museum (ENAM), a private collection of over 200 cars belonging to Sheikh Hamad Bin Hamdan Al Nahyan. Affectionately known as the “Rainbow Sheikh”, he once ordered 7 special Mercedes 500 SELs in each of the colours of the rainbow!

The other day I filled up at a small gas station and found I had a flat tyre. I saw 3 tyre fitters sitting outside and asked them "Have you an air line here?" The middle one replied: "No, but there is usually a bus every hour."

One of the stand-out features on the Oldsmobile Rocket 88's is the distinctive jet-fighter ornament mascot attached to the bonnet/hood - Now how macho is that!
