If ever you're in Abu Dhabi do visit the magnificent Grand Mosque. It's the 6th largest in the World and can hold up to 30,000 worshippers. The mosque is open daily from 8am to 10pm and non-Muslims are welcome (between 9 & 12 only).
I'm glad you took this with people on the scene — give a sense of scale to it. And its humongous! The people look like ants beside that tower! AD doesn't seem to make anything small-scale, does it?
Great photo! The white's so brilliant and dazzling.

amazingly beautiful blue sky you have there
Thanks for dropping in Alaya. Yes, the light here is great for photography. We get just 2 or 3 rainy days a year.
Fantastic photo, like many others on your blog!
Thanks JM.
It took me 6 months to find a blogger template that could display such big photos but I'm really pleased how they look.
Thanks for dropping in - Do call again soon!

Hi Hilda,
You're right - Although I generally don't like people in my photos (unless they are the main subject)it works well here given the size of the mosque.
I've looked at the theme day but can't make up my mind which one.
Peter
This is a beautiful photo. I'd love to visit this place in person.
WoW, fantastico! Great architecture, and I really did not know if it's the 6th largest of the world. Added on my wish-list to see. Thanks for sharing.
