An Emirati's Castle is his......Gas Station
What a clever bunch you all are with everyone guessing correctly that yesterday’s castle is in fact a gas station. The turrets have to be one of the most unusual male and female toilets I’ve ever come across/sat on. This gas station is one of 170 owned by Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC). Unfortunately, these older 70’s type stations are slowly being demolished making way for new ‘Millennium’ service stations, which pretty much look like any other gas station in the world – Shame! Btw gas costs $1.56 a gallon (a gallon of Perrier costs more) with an attendant on hand to fill your car and wash your windows.

Cool... I was pretty sure it was a gas station, but I'm patting myself on the back for the guess on the two toilets.
Oman has so many of these kitchy kind of things... fort shaped phone booths, khanjar shaped mail boxes... the plastic horses and such (wonder of the cyclone washed many of them away...)

Very clever! Sunny, blue sky - what could be better? I wonder what the price is per gallon??
The big question is, are the castles (restrooms) clean? I would guess they are from the looks of the place.
I would not have guessed it was a gas station. I thought it was some sort of visitor center *haha.
The "millennium" service stations sound appealing. Would love to see how they look like (getting curious now).
Heehee, that's cute! Too bad they're being upgraded. These are so much more charming.
I remember this hokey gas station. En route to Al Ain? Glad you captured it.
