The Desert
The Desert
by Abu Dhabi Poet Michael Davies
Imagine for ever our God of all
in anguish peering down
on fallen earth,
wasted to a sea of particles,
emptied of hooves
and tusked mammoth,
surging once
with brutish birds,
horned life,
verdant pastures,
fickle wife,
tomb of our fathers,
home of ancient strife.
Crumbling rifts
of quivering sands,
set aside for locusts and honeyed wandering.
Only a divine hand
could create
such sacred silence.

Is that orange for real? Amazing color.
Sure is Leslie. No photoshop required on this one.
Lovely picture! Reminds me of the Grand Canyon.
I love your photos and your writing Leslie! I never knew Abu Dhabi was so beautiful. Thanks for sharing its marvels! I look forward to seeing more photos and reading more.
