A Mirage

Walking in a desert,
only sand do I see.
Buffeted by the winds
of change, all around me.

An endless journey
of shifting sands.
A mirage awaits
to change all my plans.

This time it's real;
I'm home at last.
away from the heat
of a torrid past.

I know this is a stupid question, but are mirages real? Please say yes :-D I like the idea of mirages. Have you ever seen one?

Yes! I believe they are, although I think you have to be thirsty, hungry and half crazy to acutally see one. Having not experienced and of these symptoms I've yet to see one. I'll let you know when I do!
