The Big Canon at Al-Ittihad Square

There are several other ‘monuments’ in this square including a giant coffee pot, incense burner and perfume bottle, all of which you'll see here another day.

I love the angle you used to take this picture. Those are beautiful buildings on either side.

All by the same artist? Are those buildings office or residential?
I can't get over how much the design and color of the buildings remind me of Los Angeles. Those white buildings with green glass look like your standard office building along the western stretch of Wilshire Blvd. - I've seen all those designs before!

All the buildings you see are residential, although all of them have shops (grocers, jewelers, bank, travel agent etc.)on the ground floor.

Finding out who and when the monuments were created is a tough assignment.
