These desert hunting dogs have been around for 7,000 years and originate from the Arabian Peninsula, Egypt, Syria and Jordan. Apparently, there’s around 800 pure Arabian Salukis in the UAE. Here's the winner (on the right) and runner-up of the beauty contest.
How fabulous to see salukis in their native land. I've seen these beautiful dogs at dog shows in the UK and in America but it's moving to see them with their handlers in the UAE.

They look like hunters ... very sleek, skinny?

Don't Salukis race too? Like we do with Greyhounds?
I am curious, is it natural for Salukis to be so skinny and bony? It's as though they have not been fed for a long time.
Yes JC, I think it's natural for Salukis to be this thin. After all, they are hunting dogs and therefore to be fast in the desert.
