The Value of Education

"Live as if your were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live forever".

"Learning without thought is labor lost; thought without learning is perilous".

Here in Guyana now, education is only about passing exams. Children with many passes leave school without much of an imagination.

Once they finish university, that's it, they know only what's in their field of study.

'Seek knowledge from the cradle to the grave' doesn't mean much to them, I guess.

I feel like I'm sitting there studying with them. Fun to catch up on your blog - I've been too busy to look lately!
